LG recruits Courtney Rothery as an associate in its Dubai office
Lawrence Graham ("LG") has recruited Courtney Rothery as an associate in its construction and projects team in Dubai. She joins from Trench & Associates in Dubai and will work alongside LG's head of international construction and partner James Foster.
At Trench & Associates Courtney headed the litigation department, providing advice on a broad range of contentious commercial matters. Courtney conducted a case in the Dubai International Arbitration Centre ("DIAC"), including the final hearing in person, securing successfully a final award in favour of the client in the sum of AED 13.2 million plus full costs and expenses. She has particular strength in the Middle Eastern construction sector and recently advised a major regional developer on various contentious issues relating to a large mixed use multi-tower development in Abu Dhabi valued at around US$650 million. She has also recently advised the main contractor on various matters related to an Abu Dhabi development with a contract value of over AED 176 million.

LG's Dubai office was established in 2007 and has grown rapidly with turnover in the last financial year increasing by 26 per cent. Its main focus is on construction and projects, corporate finance, restructuring and insolvency and private capital. The firm launched in 2010 the Family Business Advisory Group with Walid Chiniara, a well known international corporate lawyer and family business advisor based in Dubai.
